Earlier today I came across the website for BMDW—the Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide network. They list all of the sites that are linked through them for bone marrow stem cell and umbilical cord blood bank registries. While you can check out the complete list, I went and lifted the information that relates to bone marrow donations and included in on our list of registries. That's 37 new countries, so our list now spans from Armenia to Urugay.
Cord blood, by the way, comes from newborns' umbilical cords, and you're often given the option of donating cord blood at birth. If you're planning on having a baby, consider donating; it's also a form of insurance for your child. Message Archives |
